The game is on for tonight, the coach has called and said that diamonds are OK to use and the weather has cleared off. Please be at park for 8 pm.

Make up games

We have a 3 make up games scheduled for July:

July 11th - in Sebringville - game time 7 pm
July 12th - in Stratford - game time 6 pm - double header against Elma
July 16th - in Norwich - game time 8:30 pm

We still have 2 more rained out games to get in.

First Fundraiser

We are holding our first fundraiser this Saturday. We are going to run a BBQ at our Mite/Squirt tourny this Saturday. We need volunteers for 2 hour shifts to help cook and serve. Let me know what shifts you are available for. We will start at about 9:00 and run until 4.

We will be doing 2 other fundraisers, selling Elmira chicken (we earn $5/box) - thanks Cody for the good idea, selling booze tickets (I should have the tickets this week to start selling). When I have more information I will pass it on. If you have any other fundraising ideas please let us know.

OASA update

Game 1 - we won 2 - 0 against Paris. Be at Hillside Park for 12 noon Saturday.

Elim's Update

I have just received word that the OASA will be sending 3 teams to the Canadian Midgets Championships this year. They also have committed to sending 2 teams to St-Gervais, Quebec for the Eastern Canadian Championships.

We as a team certainly have the ability to win one the available berths in one of these tournaments. Put your games faces on, its going to be great weekend.

- 401 to 8 Kitchener to 7E Kitchener (Guelph) to 85 Waterloo to University Ave. West exit. Take University W to third traffic signal (Marsland Drive). Turn right on Marsland. Hillside is at the end of Marsland on your right just before the stop sign.

Waterloo Park Diamonds
- from Hillside follow Marsland back to University Ave. Turn Right onto University Ave. Follow University Ave. past WLU and UW entrances to traffic signal at Westmount Rd (first traffic signal past UW main traffic signal entrance). Immediate first left off Westmount at EMS garage is entrance to Waterloo Park. There is also a second excellent parking entrance if you were to continue on Westmount to first traffic signal at Shell station and turn left onto Father David Bauer Dr. Extra parking is located at first left off Father David Bauer just across from Swim Complex. Driving time 5 min.

Conestoga Village Park
- Turn right out of Hillside Park. At stop sign turn right onto Lexington. Proceed east on Lexington to the 4th traffic light. This is a T intersection. Turn left onto University Ave. Proceed along University Ave. past Rim Park to traffic lights at Northfield Drive. Turn right onto Northfield. Proceed about 3 km out into the country and you will come to Conestoga village. At the main intersection stop light turn right. Turn right at first side street to diamond park. Driving time 10 min.

Sebringville Game CANCELLED

Game in Sebringville tonight has been cancelled due to rain. It has been rescheduled to July 11th @ 7 pm in Sebringville.

Weekend Games

We play Saturday night in Sebringville at 7:30 PM at the main diamond. This is part of their Fastball Fest so there might be a small crowd. As we are preparing for the Elim's next weekend lets play hard. Be there no later than 6:50 to get ready.

Our Sunday night game has been cancelled by Rockwood. But we might as well use the time for practice. Be at our park for 7:00 and we will have a practice. Since this is our normal game night and everyone has it off anyway I expect all of you there.

As the elims are so close we need to really put a big effort in this week to get ready. I really do think you guys are capable of winning this tournament. You guys just need to step up to the challenge.

Batting Practice

Since most of you are now finished school for the year or will be very shortly, if you want extra batting practice during the day let me know. My schedule is very flexible and could meet some of you at the park to hit a few balls. Let me know if you want the extra practice.

Tavistock - Cancelled

Tonights game is cancelled against Tavistock. We don't have any pitcher available for tonights game so can't play. I'll let everyone know when it is rescheduled.

Tonights Game

We play New Dundee tonight. Since we have not played for a week be at the park for 6:00 so we can get through the batting cage before the game. It's important we keep working on our batting to keep up our good hitting so far this year.

Plus we get to use the brand new pitching machine!

OASA Eliminations

The schedule has been released for the Eliminations in Waterloo starting June 26-28.

Our first game is at 9PM at Hillside Park Diamond #1 (upper) against the winner of the Paris and Niagara Falls game that is being played at 4PM.

If (when) we win we will then play at 3PM Saturday on the same diamond. If we lose we play at 9AM at Conestoga Park. I really do not want to play that late and then get there that early for another game so I guess we had better win.

I'll provide more details when I get them.

Thursday nights game - location change!

Our Thursday night game against Oxford Pirates is now being played at Oxford Centre (NOT NORWICH). Directions: Take hwy 59 through Woodstock (over the 401), take the curve past sand/gravel pit then turn left at the Old Stage Road and this will take you right to the ball park. Be at park for 7:45 pm.

Eliminations in Waterloo

We received an email today telling us that there are 25 teams in the Elims, therefore there is a GOOD chance we will be playing Friday afternoon or evening. Please book Friday, Saturday and Sunday off of work. We should have the actual schedule next week.

We will be going to the eliminations with the best pitching staff in the tourney, the triple M of pitching (Matt, Mark, Mike). I am expecting to do very well at this tourney. Just so everyone is aware we will be playing our best players in their best spots for most of the tourney. So lets play and practice hard over the next few weeks.

Reminder - I need the birth certificates Sunday - have to send to OASA by June 10th!!!!!!

Cancel Practice

Since it is still so wet, we will have to cancel tonight practice. I'll see everyone at Hillside Park in Waterloo no later than 7:45 tomorrow.

This Week

Just a reminder of practice tonight. I know we have played a lot the last few days but this is the first chance to practice some of the things we have discovered the last few days that we need to work on.

You all played well last night but we need to work out some bugs. Remember the Eliminations are only a few weeks away, and is likely one of the most important tournies we will play this year.
